Dawn moved to California when she was in her early 20's. She came from Asia to pursue the American dream. She attended in the University of Riverside, California, where she graduated with a Bachelors in Business Management. It was during this time that she was selected as part of a group of twenty-three students to study at the University of Oxford in their "Global Enterprise Management" program. Next, Dawn attended at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, where she completed P.D Program "Professional Designation Program Fashion Design." During time in school, Dawn launched online Dawn Sunflower, and created a line of couture evening gown, which have been displayed on the runway, television, and a few of charity events. Designs published on magazines: Vogue UK, Bazaar UK, Tatler UK, Glamour UK, Hollywood Weekly, Shannon Hollywood, Vietnam Bazaar, FCM, Sicky, iMute, etc...

The origin of the name, Dawn Sunflower comes in part from her American name, Dawn means the rising of the sun and Sunflower, which, translated from her Vietnamese name, means dedication, stand tall and stand proud.
